Fair To Exhibit Medal of Honor Apollo Replica At All Iowa Fair

Mary Knebel Dies in California at 29
Mary Alice Knebel, 29, a former Cedar Rapids resident, died suddenly Thursday in Riverside California. Survivors include her parents Mr and Mrs Francis C Knebel of Cedar Rapids a sister Mrs Robert Gibson and a brother William all of Cedar Rapids. Services are pending in Riverside.

Briscoe Becomes Dublin's First Jewish Lord Mayor
Robert Briscoe 74, the only Jew ever elected Dublin lord mayor, died Friday. Known as the fabulous Irish man, he won the 1956 post by a hat draw with Denis Larkin and was re elected in 1961 after a council vote. Briscoe, son of a Lithuanian immigrant, remained a Zionist while his two daughters joined Roman Catholic life.

Waterloo Youth 19 Gets 30 Year Term
Ronald McBride of Waterloo aged 19 was sentenced to 30 years at Fort Madison for second degree murder in the February slaying of Albert Wittfoth 46 of Pipestone Minnesota. A Black Hawk county jury found him guilty on May 16.
