Cedar Rapids plans music census action plan to boost scene
Cedar Rapids unveils a two phase Music Census Action Plan to bolster the local music ecosystem. The effort follows a survey of 463 area professionals and is backed by Sound Music Cities, Venu Works, and the Cedar Rapids Tourism Office with over 50 thousand dollars in funding. Entailed are regulatory streamlining, a nine to twelve month Music Task Force, a Leaders in Cedar Rapids Music program, youth and minority artist investments, local journalism, and year round downtown programming to connect venues and performers.

UIHC Creates New Physician Executive Post in Iowa City
UI Health Care formed an inaugural chief physician executive role, naming Bevan Yueh to begin July 31 to unify clinical care across UIHC, its hospitals, physician groups, and future sites. Yueh’s hire follows a $525.6 million North Liberty inpatient expansion and ongoing campus growth. the system plans more than $1 billion in a new main-campus tower and broader clinical enterprise leadership. Yueh, previously CEO of University of Minnesota Physicians, brings a national profile to align standards, safety, and teamwork across UIHC while the organization expands its facilities and staff with about 20,000 employees and 1,200 doctors.
