Under Western Stars sparks cowboy appeal across regions
A Hollywood critic notes Roy Rogers rising from supporting roles to star of Under Western Stars. TheWestern tale draws 26 000 Dallas viewers and wins crowds in Kansas City and Wichita. The piece argues simple story quality and homespun heroes draw audiences over foreign imports and costly productions. It cites Robin Hood and Test Pilot success and urges more rustic, boyish singing heroes like Rogers.
