The fishing derby has had mixed success with few fish caught. One year a tagged white bass was released but never found, and organizers debate prizes. Coordinator Scott Sailor predicts better fishing this year amid a record race field anticipated by Mark Neuzil, the Gazette sportswriter and race starter.
