United Airlines to buy US Airways for 4.3 billion
United Airlines owner UAL Corp has agreed to acquire US Airways Group Inc for 4.3 billion dollars in cash plus assuming 7.3 billion dollars in debt and leases. The boards of both companies approved the deal creating a giant network with hubs on the East and West Coasts and about 6,500 daily flights.
