Jobless Claims Office Moves to New Cedar Rapids Location
The Iowa Employment Security Commission says the Cedar Rapids unemployment insurance claims office will relocate to 3515 First Avenue SE in the Town and Country Shopping Center on June 5. The move separates the claims office from the Employment Service, which will stay at the current site. The new phone number is 364-8191. Robert Selk cites overcrowding and the economic slowdown as factors, with both offices crowded and ready to expand separately. The current building, completed in 1988, was designed for both offices, but expansion needs led to the change.
