Court rejects CRST merger bid in Iowan case
A three judge federal panel ruled against Cedar Rapids Steel Transportation Company and Edith Messinger executor in denying the merger with Cedar Rapids Transportation. The ruling dissolves a May 1958 restraining order and upholds that Messinger's operating certificate had become dormant. The decision also notes IRS collection, the Tonkin Resolution context, and mootness of the tax issue as taxes were collected by the IRS.
