International News Service reports two kidnappers and a murderer were hanged at San Quentin at 10 am after a sensational prison break. Alexander Mackay, a British subject, faced attempted commutation, while Joseph Kristy was executed alongside him. Earl Kimball was executed at Folsom for the murder of James C. Kennett, a retired Chicago financier.
In California two kidnapers Alexander Mackay and Joe Kristy were hanged for the 1935 jail break in which three parole board members and others were seized. The British government sought clemency but Governor Merriam denied a third reprieve. Mackay claimed innocence and accused California of injustice.
In Denver a mob of about seventy five youths seized 13 year old Anna Maria Klantchnek a sixth grade honor pupil and dragged her into an alley with a rope threatening to hang her over her good grades Police dispersed the juvenile lynching party and took the girl home where a minor knife wound was found.
