Texas studio Studio City International is in preliminary talks with Davenport officials about a 30 million studio near Davenport Municipal Airport. The plan includes production facilities sound stages a filming area and a hotel and restaurant. The project could create 70 to 80 permanent jobs and 300 to 400 during filming.

Davenport man charged with first degree murder in bartender’s death
Steve G. Wilburn, 32, faces first degree murder charges in the weekend killing of Mike Miller, 25, a Kathy's Silver Moon bartender. Miller was found early Saturday in downtown Davenport and an autopsy suggested blunt force trauma possibly from a tire iron. Wilburn was jailed on a $100,000 bond after investigators traced a matching pickup truck.
