The Magic of Lassie movie review sparks debate
The piece mocks the Lassie film The Magic of Lassie starring James Stewart Michael Sharrett and Pernell Roberts. It criticizes the film’s lack of dog centric gimmicks and mocks its G rating while noting a rescue plot on a California vineyard and a family rebirth theme.

Lassie Lassie Girl and the Magic Collie Film Review
A critic cites a French friend in a mixed appraisal of Lassie The Movie noting the film aims to move the audience with tragedy rather than entertain. Lassie shows charm and tricks occasionally while Jimmy Stewart registers, though many scenes keep her off camera. The score is drippy yet the tangible appeal remains the film’s strongest asset.
