Starger to leave ABC to form own production firm
Martin Starger, ABC Television head of entertainment since 1972, quits June 15 to form his own company, financed but 100 percent owned by him, under exclusive contract with ABC for series, specials, and TV movies. He says exclusivity reflects ABC financing and their desire for total effort, denies ties to anti trust suits, and notes the firm will also handle non TV projects independently.
