New York Man Pleads Guilty to Sexual Exploitation of a Minor
Robert L. Smith, 45, of Groveland New York pleaded guilty in Cedar Rapids to sexual exploitation of a minor after contacting a Cedar Rapids police investigator posing as a 14 year old on a dating site. He faces up to 10 years in prison with 10 year sex offender registry and lifetime parole. Sentencing not yet set.

Iowa City man gets 200 months for child pornography
Evan Robert Steinberg, 26, was sentenced in U S District Court to 200 months in federal prison for one count each of distribution and receipt of child pornography. Authorities seized five devices in December 2021 revealing hundreds of images and videos of abuse involving children under age 1. He faces five years of supervised release and $8000 in fees.
