The blaze began on a living room sofa where 7 month old Mia McGriff slept, as candles and kerosene lamps provided light. Doris McGriff lost three of her own relatives in the blaze. Charles Franklin of Baltimore Gas & Electric noted service was shut off mid day Friday despite prior notices and winter protections.
