Cedar Rapids eyes options after Hy-Vee First Ave closing
City officials and stakeholders study all options to fill the grocery and pharmacy gap left by Hy-Vee as the First Avenue NE store at 1556 First Ave NE plans to close on June 23. City Manager Jeff Pomeranz says talks with Hy-Vee continue while pursuing possible new grocers or nonprofit partnerships to serve Wellington Heights and Mound View residents.
