Kirkwood unveils six month crash course in programming

Kirkwood Community College will start a six month accelerated program in computer programming on June 15 to meet a critical shortage of programmers in Cedar Rapids area firms. Five companies funded development and will employ interns. tuition is 6500 dollars with graduates earning 25000 or more.

Rieflin Murder Trial Details Ralston Shootings

Jurors hear eyewitness accounts about the Jan. 27 1995 Ralston Foods plant shootings in Cedar Rapids Linn County. Charges fly over Marquette meetings in Open Meetings suit

City Administrator Randy Lenth sues current and former Marquette officials alleging illegal private meetings to hire an audit firm and conduct city business. Defendants call the suit baseless while the trial proceeds in Clayton County. If ruled for Lenth, penalties up to $500 per defendant and legal fees may be awarded.
