Master Barbers Of Iowa To Meet In Cedar Rapids
About 400 to 500 delegates are slated for the 29th annual Associated Master Barbers of Iowa convention at the Roosevelt hotel in Cedar Rapids next Sunday and Monday. State Secretary A E Morenous of Cedar Rapids said the Chicago based general president T C MacDuffee will address delegates Sunday afternoon. W B Wilson of Des Moines, director of the state barber division, will also appear. Senator Rourke B Hickenlooper will give the banquet address Sunday night. Highlights include a Bill Kurth Waterloo ladies haircut demonstration and a kil-cut demonstration by Bill Herber Cedar Rapids. LeRoy Kleppein serves as host Linn County Master Barbers president.

Bill McNiel of Boy Scout Troop No. 5 and Explorer Post No. 5 will receive the Eagle Scout award at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Central Park Presbyterian Church. He has progressed through ranks since 1950, earning God and Country and Order of the Arrow, with scoutmaster Ralph Moore and post adviser Ralph Paeth guiding him. Other scouts to be honored include Allan Nimmer and Robert Lamberson, with tenderfoot, second class, and merit badge recipients listed, along with junior leadership badges.
