Pension hike expands Iowa public employee benefits
Gov. Branstad signed a measure boosting retirement benefits by 33 million dollars a year for Iowa workers. The law introduces the rule of 92 and halves some early retirement penalties, offers bonus checks for retirees, and changes sheriff retirements and surviving spouse provisions. Other signed bills address alcohol penalties, child support, lie detector tests in hiring, and limits on state agency competition with private business.
