Says People Forced Aid For Schools In Iowa
DES MOINES AP Charles F Martin executive secretary of the Iowa State Education Association said that school people must take more interest in politics from the grass roots to top state offices. He reported opposition from administration forces at the statehouse in obtaining legislative approval of the school aid program and noted 13,000,000 of annual school aids voted by the general assembly and other new laws to improve the school tax situation and administrative functions. Martin said we have won a substantial portion of our program but fell short of total goals. He recalled the lobby image and said the real lobby was the people in towns and rural districts who supported the effort.
