Farm surpluses appear too small says Wilcox
AMES UP Walter W Wilcox of Iowa State College says last year s large corn belt surpluses are smaller this year due to defense and Britain aid programs. Policy now aims to raise production with more pork eggs butter and chickens while carryovers from hay and storage may equal one fifth of a normal crop. Better livestock husbandry rather than more corn is seen as the path to higher livestock output.
