Detectives arrested Arthur John Raymer of 1121 Ninth Street SE on assault with intent to inflict great bodily injury after he admitted a barroom altercation with Grover Foggy of 812 Sixth Avenue SE. Foggy was hospitalized with a throat injury. Raymer was released on $500 bond after waiving a preliminary hearing.
Two men attending St. Luke’s Hospital nurses graduation exercises at St. Paul’s church were robbed Monday night. Roy Gardner of Herndon lost 20 dollars and Clarence Ford of Grundy Center 45 dollars, both discovered their losses after leaving town. Maxine Gardner, Roy’s daughter, reported the incident. Eatell Ford and Gardner’s daughters were in the same class.
