Cities Can't Limit Liquor Licenses in Arnolds Park Decision
Iowa hearing board rules local authorities cannot cap liquor or beer permits despite Arnolds Park's 1968 rule. The decision tackles whether the town can limit licenses while the state law bans limits, noting the last sentence does not grant the local authority sole power to restrict. The case centers on two license requests for the Central Emporium building by Robert J. Eves and Roger A. Toillion.
