Cedar Rapids School Leaders Expand Roles Amid Budget Cuts
Cedar Rapids Community School District reorganizes leadership to cover an 11 percent administrator reduction due to a $12 million deficit. Twenty-two positions are eliminated or repurposed, with 60 teachers redeployed and 110 paraeducators to be reduced next year. A new district deputy role and several chief positions reshape governance across three areas, aiming to keep resources focused in classrooms.
