McGregor Fishermen Target Big Catfish in Spring Run
McGregor fishers led by Bob Hill say high spring waters bring large channel catfish into shallower ranges. They hauled a five foot long fifty pounder on Saturday and another fisher, Richard Adney, caught a similar size. The big fish dwell in deep holes and move upward when river pressure rises, making them prime for seining and sale in city markets.

Urge More Strict Milk Inspection in Iowa
Representatives from various groups urged stricter licensing and biannual inspections of milk producers and distributors in Iowa. The resolution calls for amending the Iowa milk law to require all milk or cream dealers to obtain a Department of Agriculture license, raise the fee from 1 to 2 dollars, and use receipts to fund a milk and ice cream inspection unit. Department officials said the amendment would target dairy farms selling directly to consumers, not existing licensed dealers.
