Volunteers from local companies and organizations will perform service projects at non profit agencies Tuesday as part of the 11th annual Day of Caring sponsored by the United Way of East Central Iowa. Bikes for Kids program to reward 50 Cedar Rapids children
The Children's Charity of Iowa will distribute bikes helmets and locks to 50 Boys & Girls Club of Cedar Rapids members who wrote a story or drew a picture about riding. Winners pick up at 9 a.m. May 16 in the Johnson Avenue Hy-Vee lot. A police rep will teach bike safety.

Dylan Shah 15, son of Lori and Sanjay Shah of Cedar Rapids, received his Eagle Scout award in a Court of Honor on April 26 at the Indian Creek Nature Center.
