Eastern Iowa Airport gets 1.2 million in TSA screening gear
The Eastern Iowa Airport will receive 1.2 million dollars in new baggage screening units and explosive detection equipment from the TSA funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Janet Napolitano announced 47 million for 123 Reveal Imaging detectors and 3 million for 44 Rapiscan X-ray units. Dan Mann notes smaller Reveal units and faster behind the counter installation, with airline mergers slowing relocation and funds from passenger facility charges available for structural changes.

Government GMAC could reshape auto sales nationwide
The federal government is poised to take control of GMAC Financial Services to aid GM and Chrysler. Analysts warn a government controlled GMAC could steer loans to boost those automakers, possibly at the expense of Ford and Toyota, while taxpayers face risk. The Obama administration already owns 5 million GMAC shares from a $5 billion bailout.
