Chessie hostage taker Ashley Leach held after park birth protest
Ashley Leach 31 of Huntington West Virginia held 13 hostages last summer in a Chessie protest. He attempted to persuade his wife to give birth on the steps of Cleveland’s Soldiers and Sailors monument. He was jailed after a fight, injured himself, and is in psychiatric care. The newborn girl arrived safely. Leach faces 3 to 15 years for extortion and related charges. previously acquitted on kidnapping counts.
