Iowa AG joins suit to block Biden Title IX rules
Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird joined a multi state lawsuit led by Arkansas and Missouri challenging Biden administration Title IX rules expanding protections to sexual orientation gender identity and sex characteristics. The suit argues the rule oversteps authority while Iowa Gov Reynolds touted the filing as protecting girls sports and privacy. The matter follows Republican led efforts and reflects broader fights over education sex based discrimination and federal authority. Iowa ranked No 6 overall in a U.S. News ranking with high marks in infrastructure and opportunity while gov Reynolds touts tax cuts and state pride. Bird co signed a letter urging UNRWA funding to be cut permanently citing moral clarity and opposition to antisemitic education.
