Cedar Rapids man pleads to involuntary manslaughter in 18-year-old's death
Lorenzo L. Burnett, 20, pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and witness tampering in the December death of 18-year-old Marissa Doolin. He admitted recklessly discharging a gun during a confrontation at 2110 Westdale Dr SW, Cedar Rapids, with Doolin dying December 26 after transfer to Iowa City. He faces up to 12 years in prison with sentencing set for July 6 in Linn County District Court.
