Counties warn funding cut could hit juvenile detention statewide
Linn County supervisors warn a possible state funding reduction for juvenile detention programs threatens the center’s budget. If the 10 percent share from the driver license fund drops, Linn could lose about 420000, with statewide impact on 11 detention centers and related facilities. Local officials urge legislators to raise the fund’s top share to 20 or 25 percent to preserve operations.
