Rohn Faces Verdict After Trial Over Miss May Case
Rohn testified he saw Farris kill Miss May and that Farris boasted of stabbing two boys. The jury weighed murder or manslaughter on Miss May, with acquittal on that charge and on accessory counts. Forewoman Happel noted a divided panel and an acquittal based on compulsion defenses and credibility of witnesses. The state argued about Rohn’s frame of mind and actions, while defense lawyers challenged detective testimony and argued not to let tragedy shape guilt. Prosecutors cited shoeprint evidence and location of the murder.
