Centenary of congregations marks English as main tongue
The second and third generation now speak English exclusively in services. Most schools are one language. The melting pot has absorbed diverse peoples into the body politic. Congregational property totals 113,107,237 dollars with outside and home fund raises adding to 13,732,972 dollars for 1938. A centennial bank offering accompanies the celebration. House-to-house solicitation engages nearly all congregations.
