Branstad signs Iowa election law changes
Gov. Terry Branstad signed House File 516 changing voter verification rules and shortening early voting to 29 days. About 700000 dollars will fund new ID cards for roughly 85000 voters without driver licenses. The secretary of state announced a soft rollout to issue IDs before the 2018 primary, while critics warn of higher costs and reduced turnout.
