Historic house moved to save landmark from wrecking ball
The Houser Metzger House traveled about 40 000 per block to a new College Street site saving a 19th century home. The move cost about 225 000 with overhead power lines disconnected and reconnected. Community members watched at College Green Park as Preservation officials planned to update and resell the house for residential use.
