Explosions Level Henderson Fuel Plant and Candy Factory

A series of blasts destroyed a space shuttle fuel plant and a candy factory in Henderson Nevada creating a 5 square mile toxic cloud. One death was confirmed with more than 250 people treated for injuries while roads were closed and schools evacuated. Emergency crews evacuated workers seconds before the blasts. no further bodies were found.

Cedar Rapids man nabbed in heroin case tied to overdose death

Shaker Nassif of 3909 13th Ave SE was arrested on federal charges for importing heroin valued at about 5 million dollars from Lebanon. The affidavit links a batch he shipped to a Cedar Rapids man, David Weaver, whose death last July was attributed to heroin and alcohol. Nassif faces possible life without parole if convicted.

Israel Ends Lebanon Sweep After 43 Killed

Israeli forces end a Lebanon operation after three Israelis and at least 40 Lebanese Shiite guerrillas die in Maydoun and surrounding areas. The combat included shelling near Mashghara and an artillery strike that hit long-range Syrian guns.
