Debate on Nudity Ban and No Knock Arrest Provisions
The legislature considered provisions to ban certain nudity and adult material while debating no knock arrest rules. Senators argued the nudity ban would not curb pornography and could elevate it, while a proposal to reinsert a no knock arrest provision drew concerns about police safety and citizen harm. Roll calls showed divides along party lines with 22 senators voting to accept the house amendment banning nudity and a majority opposing the broader limits.
