Retired sheet metal workers repair Cedar Rapids Lady Liberty statue
The 8 foot 4 inch Lady Liberty statue on May's Island in Cedar Rapids, donated by the Boy Scouts in 1949 51, endured vandalism and a 2008 flood. Retirees Gary Myers and Mike Kane led a restoration with soldering to reattach pieces and remove corrosion while considering color changes to bronze to green.
