Linn Magistrate Hears Three Cases
In Linn Magistrate Court Robert Matthews of Hiawatha pled guilty to drunk driving with sentencing deferred for two years after an April 11 arrest. Ellsworth Primmer of the YMCA pled guilty to assault and battery, fined 50 dollars plus costs for an April 10 incident against Judith Love. Roger Smith of 846 Fifth Avenue SE pled guilty to assault and received a two day jail term for an April 26 assault on Angela MacWilliams.

State Narcotics Officers Arrest Two Men in Cedar Rapids
Two men, Bruce Litterer and Peter Sivright, were arrested after allegedly selling slightly over three ounces of MDA to a state undercover officer in a southwest Cedar Rapids parking lot near Kmart West. They were charged with delivery of a controlled substance and held on $10,000 bond each.

Troopers Cite 139 Speeders In Linn County Crackdown
Iowa highway patrol troopers ticketed 139 speeding motorists in Linn county Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. The Linn County sheriff’s department issued 115 speeding tickets Monday and Tuesday mornings. The patrol used three troopers and a sergeant with an airplane. Six on the road troopers staff the six county area. three new troopers join May 19.

Tama- Noah Trimble dies in Brooklyn nursing home
Noah Trimble formerly of Marion and Tama died in a Brooklyn nursing home on Wednesday. Born May 29, 1892 in Oregon Missouri, he married Loretta Sheridan March 23, 1913 in Doniphan Missouri and after her death wed Mary Shaffer. He worked 25 years at Tama Paper Mill retiring in 1958 then moved to Marion. Survived by wife, son James of Belle Plaine, daughter Mrs Herman Graff of Tama, four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and sisters Melissa Martin Ottumwa and Hattie Davies Cedar Rapids. Services Friday at 1 30 at Mason-Hands.
