Cedar Rapids students mourn after Colorado crash
The Gazette reports Cedar Rapids teens Sierra Mitchell 18 and Molly Raim 17 died after a Colorado car crash on Interstate 70 as the trio returned from spring break in California. Escapee from Oakdale appears in court in Iowa City
Jeffrey Hershberger, 40, an Iowa prisoner paroled to Oakdale escape, faces up to five more years for felony escape after breaking out with Omar Wilkins in 2003. They climbed two fences on April 12 2008, stole a car in the prison lot, and fled toward Atlanta before Hershberger was located by an FBI task force. Wilkins, 21, turned himself in later and received multiple sentences including a life term for a 2002 Sioux City murder.
