Iowa City notices report the funeral services for William A. Van Allen brother of Drs. James A. and Maurice W. Van Allen held in Las Palmas Canary Islands after his death on March 27. Born September 6, 1921 in Mt. Pleasant he studied at the University of Iowa and Georgetown and served with Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory in World War II. He later worked at Hughes Aircraft Co rising to corporate director for contracts and pricing before a London assignment representing the firm in NATO defense circles. He was president of the National Contract Management Society at his death. Surviving are his wife and four sons.
