Iron Horse Series commemorates famed locomotives in silver ingots
The Lombardo mint plans a five ingot set honoring Civil War era and iconic American locomotives. The first issue features Engine No. 4 General, seized in 1862, with four more engines from South Carolina, New York Central, Lehigh Valley, and Mohawk and Hudson railroads. Each ingot weighs about 2500 grains and measures 1 by 2.5 by 4.2 inches.
