Interior Hog Run Projected Record March Totals
An estimate from Des Moines indicates interior hog marketing in Iowa and southern Minnesota will total about 814 700 head for March 1939 814 700 exceeds the previous high and marks a 49 percent rise from 1930. The run stems from earlier fall pig movements larger summer farrowed pigs and a weak corn hog price ratio. Prices were weak with top bids under a nickel at many markets, while deliveries remained heavy into April.
