Hawkeye Ball Nine Seeks Outfielders for Iowa Nine
Iowa City coach Otto Vogel seeks two strong outfielders to replace graduations as the Hawkeyes prep for Friday’s home opener with Bradley Tech. Lack of hitting power from last year’s co captains Art Manush and Bill West hampers the squad. Veterans plus rookies fill the infield and mound, with center fielder Jim George key in the outfield and Kenny Reid departed from the pitching staff. The team may miss the Big Ten title without two solid outfielders.
