Two Killed in Cedar Rapids Car Crash
Cedar Rapids youths Shane Scott 19 and Jeffrey Wells 19 died when their car rolled off a Linn County road and threw them from the vehicle. Chad Dutton 20 was injured but walked to a nearby residence for help and was in fair condition at St. Luke's Hospital. Deputies found the overturned car near Ivanhoe Road south of Highway 30 shortly before 4:30 a.m. Funeral services for Scott and Wells were pending.

A man was injured and extricated from a vehicle that left East Post Road near Mount Vernon Road around 10 p.m. He was taken to Mercy Medical Center for treatment. his condition was not available last night.

West Branch student suspended for blue hair

Edith Marie Barton, 55, died after an parked car rolled on an incline in her daughter's driveway. She was outside the vehicle attempting to release the emergency brake when the front wheel ran over her. Police described the incident as a fatal accident resulting from a rolling vehicle.
