Fatal Cedar Rapids candle blaze claims 28-year-old life
A candle ignited materials in a northeast Cedar Rapids bedroom killing 28 year old Scott Reid. He died at Mercy Medical Center after firefighters found him unconscious on his bed with burns. The one story home at 4700 White Pine Dr NE sustained a localized fire, limited to the back bedroom, and was out when crews arrived. Reid’s mother found him and paramedics worked to revive him.
