Des Moines AP Sen ate Republican Leader David Stanley unveiled a property tax revision plan to shift most urban taxes from buildings to land. The proposal, backing 16 Republicans and one Democrat, would ease taxes on improved buildings while keeping high rates on unimproved land, with a ten year tax break for repairs and maintenance. It would make a mandatory land to building valuation shift in cities of 10 000 or more and allow county option in smaller communities.

Gerald Gimm 31 of Bettendorf Iowa was sentenced in district court in Boulder Colorado to a prison term of 2 1 2 to six years for attempted grand theft related to a calculated swindle of a Boulder woman. He pled guilty as Judge Hod ward Ashton called the act deliberate.

Judge Denies New Trials in Bank Conspiracy Case

The judge denied motions for new trials for Edward Husar and Norman Kohn.
