House votes to rein in tax credits

The Iowa House passed SF 2380 to curb state tax credits, suspend the film tax credit until July 1 2013, and place all credits under review. The bill seeks tighter oversight, reduced caps on credits, and a five year panel study with potential reallocations to aid budget balance.

Lone Tree couple charged after alleged domestic assault and marijuana find

Johnson County deputies responded to a Lone Tree domestic fight and found the alleged victim with facial injuries. Amanda Fields-Blumer and Nathan Jurski face controlled substance and domestic assault charges after deputies found bags of marijuana and the couple allegedly admitting “bales of weed” in a minivan. They are jailed on $11,000 cash bonds. Jurski had an external hold for second degree assault in Camden County Missouri.
