Linn-Mar bus drivers press wage increase bid at board meeting
Linn-Mar school bus drivers asked the school board to reconsider pay for transportation department workers, seeking a 5.5 percent raise for 1973 74 within government limits. A department spokesman noted two years without a raise and the drivers’ claim that they safeguard children, enforce discipline, and face school issues openly. The board tabled the raise, sending it to a committee with a report due by April 6, while approving an elementary learn to swim program and other routine actions, including resignations, maternity leaves, and insurance bids.
