No reduction seen in Iowa corn acreage
Iowa farmers likely will plant at least as many corn acres as 1980, with several farmers predicting little to no change this spring. Moisture is generally adequate in many counties, while input costs and chemical prices influence planting decisions. Local growers note phosphorus, potash, and nitrogen costs constrain shifts to soybeans.
