Le Mars man gets 25 years for kidnapping
Scott Hunter, 82 of Le Mars, was sentenced to up to 25 years in prison after pleading guilty to third-degree kidnapping and first-degree burglary. He allegedly kidnapped his ex wife Michelle Hunter of Akron and her 3 year old daughter at knifepoint on Oct 23. The victims were found unharmed near Cherokee the same afternoon and Hunter was arrested Oct 24 after a van was spotted along a Plymouth County road.
