Cedar Rapids schools chief Lew Finch signaled he may leave before his two year contract ends. He asked the Cedar Rapids school board to consider an early separation package similar to one offered to teachers and administrators last year.
Finch 65 did not give a reason for leaving and would not comment after the meeting. Board president Sue McDermott said they were stunned, while others offered little reaction to the request.
